Valley of the Kings

The recent depression that has settled on the community of Addicks in south-east England lifted last night as news trickled in of a takeover of the club by Zabeel Investments. More accurately. that should read, "the Al-Maktoum's" who are the Dubai Royal family. The deal isn't done yet but this is a cash offer and you have to believe there will be no messing around.

The mind boggles as to what will happen next but it's very hard to imagine anything other than a very positive outcome. Football is all about money as we know and the Al-Maktoum's are the epitomy of big money - they have been major investors in horse-racing for generations. I think it's also fair to say that they have real class which should save us from from any immediate pitfalls of "new money" owners.

Oh how we are going to enjoy this....

A faint whiff of hypocrisy here Dave? Envy of Man City or Chelsea's good fortune waning a bit now is it?
Hopefully Charlton will get the chance to be as obnoxious and elitist as possible over the next couple of years!
Bring it on I say (so long as the price of a season ticket don't go up too much of course!!)
